In addition to our standard transducers, Michigan Scientific also has considerable experience in making custom strain gage transducers from a wide variety of stock parts supplied by our customers.

Wheel Force Transducers (WFTs) are used to measure vehicle reaction forces during durability and vehicle dynamics testing. MSC WFTs are known for their durability, accuracy, simple installation, and ease of use. Installed on cars, SUVs, all sizes of trucks, ATVs, agriculture equipment and construction machinery, MSC has a wide range of WFT capacities to fit almost any wheeled vehicle.

For some applications, a standard solution is not the best choice or even possible, so a custom load cell should be considered. When a project requires a custom solution, MSC engineers will work with the customer to define their requirements including, the number of measurement axes, load capacity, size limitations, accuracy, and quantity of load cells.
Michigan Scientific has expertise in providing a complete instrumentation solution for reliability and durability tests. Michigan Scientific can gauge OEM components, offers and develops solutions for transferring data, and creates custom DAQs to suit customer needs.
Customer owned and operated vehicles are instrumented to measure loads, temperatures, accelerations, speeds, strains, pressures and other parameters.
The Michigan Scientific transducer calibration process is accredited to the ISO 9001:0215 and ISO 17025:2017 requirements and all reference measurement equipment is traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Our Charlevoix facility houses a machine shop where we manufacture slip ring assemblies, test fixtures, prototype assemblies, transducers and a variety of other components.
Michigan Scientific provides engineering services including, but not limited to: computer aided design (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), dynamic analysis and design system (DADS), printed circuit board design, software design, failure analysis, product redesign, and slip ring design.
