Michigan Scientific offers crash barrier measurement solutions ranging from individual load cells to configured barrier assemblies and complete instrumented crash barrier systems.
Individual Crash Barrier Load Cells– Strain gauge-based transducers for integration into new or existing crash barrier designs.
Configured Barrier Assemblies– Load cells combined with application-specific plates and accessories to suit the required barrier geometry.
Complete Instrumented Crash Barrier Systems– Fully assembled systems with load cells installed on a rigid mounting plate and signal wiring routed internally.
Configurations can be tailored to suit your barrier geometry, measurement requirements, and data acquisition system.

Crash Barrier Load Cells

Complete Instrumented Crash Barrier System
Michigan Scientific can supply fully assembled crash barrier systems with load cells installed on a rigid mounting plate and signal wiring routed internally. Each assembly is designed to easily mount to existing barrier, and multiple systems can be combined to expand the face. System configurations can be tailored to specific application requirements.
Features
- Fully assembled system with mounted load cells
- Internal signal routing within the plate
- Expandable, modular configurations
- Compatible with all data acquisition systems
A standard mounting plate is one square meter and is configured for 64 load cells with 1 mm of clearance between each load cell.
Expandable System Configuration
Multiple systems can be combined to expand the barrier face. Each assembly mounts to the customer’s barrier frame and can be moved between compatible test setups.
