End of Shaft Slip Ring Applications

Michigan Scientific’s end of shaft slip ring assemblies are used to make electrical connections to thermocouples and strain gages and mount directly on the end of a shaft. They have two components; a rotor, which rotates with the shaft, and a stator, which is stationary and passes the signal to the DAQ. The signals originate at a sensor, strain gage, or thermocouple, that are lead to the rotor so that the signal passed through the stator to the DAQ. Commonly, the sensors are used to measure torque, stress, temperature, vibration, and acceleration on devices for wheel testing, halfshaft measurement, gearbox measurements, powertrain testing, and many other applications.
