Force Platform 6D Load Cell Array

Description

When two or more three axis load cells are used in an array, the moments and forces that are acting upon a body can be determined. These force platforms allow the user to determine the moment from the known geometry of the array and the force output. It is important that the array is fixed in a way so that each load cell is only subjected to forces and not individually subjected to localized moments.

Force platforms can be used in many different applications by customizing the intermediate load cells and plate sizes. From measuring stepping, standing, and jumping forces in the biomedical field, to measuring the effects of robotic arm overhang, force platforms can be used in a variety of situations.

Michigan Scientific can design and manufacture custom mounting plates to match your specific application. Talk to a Michigan Scientific engineer to help configure your load cell array.
