Mechanical Engineering Intern


Michigan Scientific Corporation (MSC) has an immediate need for Mechanical Engineering Interns to begin working in summer 2027.


Michigan Scientific has a need for a full time, mechanical engineering intern for the summer of 2027. Applicants should be enrolled in mechanical engineering, or a related field. Applicants interested in a spring 2027 internship, or spring and summer co-op position will also be considered. MSC is looking for candidates at both our Charlevoix, MI facility, and Milford, MI facility. Please submit a resume online and meet us at our booth at Career Fair on September 29.
 
A mechanical engineering intern in this position will work to make improvements to products, and assist in the design of new products and projects. This will include both design work, and hands on work. Applicants should have a strong aptitude for hands on, mechanical work. In many instances, mechanical engineering interns will aid and participate in the machining and fabrication of their own parts and designs.
 

Desired Skills

  • Enrolled in mechanical engineering or related field, minimum GPA 2.5
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software is a plus, preferably SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of machining and manufacturing methods
  • Strong ability for performing hands on work
  • Coordinates and engineers multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to independently determine tasks and complete them in a timely manner
 

 Job responsibilities may include:

  • Involvement with new product development, and existing product improvements
  • Production and product assembly work to become familiar with products and processes
  • Hands on” projects
