When two or more three axis load cells are used in an array, the moments and forces that are acting upon a body can be determined. The user can determine the moment from the known geometry of the array and the force output. It is important that the array is fixed in a way so that each load cell is only subjected to forces and not individually subjected to localized moments.
Michigan Scientific can design and manufacture custom mounting plates to match your specific application. Talk to a Michigan Scientific engineer to help configure your load cell array.
